Test & Validation Engineer

As a consultant with us, you work in development projects where you help ensure that products and systems function as intended — before they reach the customer or production.

About the role

As a Test & Validation Engineer, you are responsible for planning, performing and documenting tests throughout the development process — from early prototypes to finished product. You ensure that requirements are met according to specification, standards and regulatory requirements.

The role involves close collaboration with design engineers, systems engineers, software developers and other test functions. You work both practically and analytically, with a focus on identifying deviations, understanding root causes and contributing to robust technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform and follow up tests of mechanical components, hardware and systems

• Develop test methods, test cases and verification strategies

• Perform tests on prototypes, subsystems and complete products

• Measure, analyze and evaluate performance, function and durability

• Document test results and verify requirement fulfillment

• Troubleshoot and analyze deviations together with development teams

• Take part in requirements breakdown, verification matrices and design reviews

• Contribute to improving test processes, methods and ways of working

• Work with test equipment, measuring instruments and test rigs

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electronics, engineering physics or equivalent

• 2–6+ years' experience of test, verification or validation work

• Good understanding of mechanics, physics and/or electronics

• Experience of test methodology, requirements management and documentation

• Ability to analyze complex technical problems systematically

• Good communication skills in Swedish and English

Nice to have

• Experience of testing embedded systems and hardware

• Programming skills in Python, C/C++ or similar

• Experience of test automation and CI/CD environments

• Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet or equivalent

• Experience of standards, regulatory requirements or certification testing

• Comfortable working in lab or test environments
