Production Engineer

Assignments vary in scope and industry, but the common denominator is the need for technically skilled, structured and driven Production Engineers who can contribute to efficient, safe and competitive production.

About the role

In the role of Production Engineer, you are responsible for developing, implementing and improving production processes to ensure high quality, good delivery precision and cost-effective manufacturing. You work with industrialization of new products, production preparation, process optimization and continuous improvement.

You collaborate closely with design, quality, procurement, logistics and production to ensure that products and processes are adapted for efficient manufacturing and stable series production.

Responsibilities

• Prepare production data and work instructions.

• Assess design data and ensure manufacturability (DFM/DFA).

• Plan and drive industrialization from prototype to series production.

• Develop and optimize production flows, layouts and work methods.

• Identify and run improvement projects in quality, productivity and cost.

• Work with Lean Manufacturing, 5S and standardized ways of working.

• Perform root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions.

• Support introduction of production equipment, tooling and test equipment.

• Collaborate with procurement on technical requirements and supplier questions.

• Take part in cross-functional projects with design, quality and production.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in production engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent.

• At least 3–5 years' experience of production engineering, industrialization or process development in manufacturing industry.

• Experience of production preparation and process development.

• Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.

• Experience of drawing reading and technical documentation.

• Experience of ERP/MRP systems.

• Experience of CAD is a nice to have.

• Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, spoken and written.
